So here you are interested in having a nice holiday. Great start, which means that we're going to have a crazy fun time this holiday season!

There are 25 days till Christmas and 12 till New Years so we have a lot to do in little time! See the Happy Holiday Checklist below for supplies.

Happy Holiday Checklist
(Nothing is Required)

Music
Candles
Ingredients to bake cookies
Cloves, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg
Candy bowl
Candy
String of lights
Christmas tree or boughs
Package of Christmas cards or paper and coloured markers

To make decorations or homemade gifts, you will need boughs, oranges, popcorn, cranberries, string, ribbon and/or traditional tree decorations.

Holiday Ambiance

Happy music in the air and warm candles burning will set the mood for your holidays. Singing and fire are the key words here. ;) Whether in Canada, Africa or beyond, we can all sing and create music whether out loud or in our head. The same applies to fire. If you close your eyes and think of fire and sparkling lights, bam you will have a party in your head that we all wish we could attend! ;) The song that rings through my head each holiday season is Amazing Grace. Trust me when I say it sounds much better in my head then when it comes out my mouth. :)

The sense of smell can be very powerful during the holiday season. I simmer whole cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and orange peels in a pot of water to bring a wonderful and comforting holiday sent into my home.

If you don’t have a tree, use a plant or maybe you can pick up some boughs (cuttings from the bottom of evergreen trees) and decorate them!

Tips for a Happy Holiday

#1 - Expect nothing outside of the joy you bring to yourself by sharing the best of you with others, even strangers, this holiday season.

#2 - Look for the magic! It’s up to you to look for the beauty of a glowing candle or choose to feel music and not just hear it.

#2 - Know you're not alone this holiday season because we are right here with you! The Empowerment House Team is thinking about YOU over the holidays and excited to spend them with YOU!

Collect as many ingredients as you may need to make your space and holiday experience peaceful, joyous, active, and in light of you. :)
