For our anniversary, I have published the Best of the Best from the past year. It's been a great year and we look forward to sharing another great year ahead with you. As I’ve talked about in the past, it took a lifetime to meet the right people to fill the shoes of an Empowerment House mentor. They must not only have professional skills, but also have personal skills, wisdom, an empathic nature, little ego, and a lot of heart. Our mentors are some of the finest people that I've ever met and I cannot thank them enough for their dedication, drive, commitment and passion for Empowerment House. Our amazing team of mentors and columnists who rock the house each month are: David Suzuki, world renowned environmentalist, Beverley Raitz, writer, Amy Leask, philosopher, Roger Vokey, lawyer, Michael Killip, chef and entrepreneur, and Matt Tod, youth leader. Thank you again! As I was growing up, I had a teacher who taught me the importance of life. John Hogan wasn’t fancy and didn’t drive expensive cars. He just loved young adults and shared his wisdom with them. This mentor guided who I turned out to be. Mentorship can assist a young adult to grow, flourish, and build stamina for their journey ahead. My wish is that each reader takes one piece of advise each month and applies it to their life in a positive manner. I wish for you to grow knowing that an entire team of people are contributing their time to be there for you and all young adults. Thank you for your support, kind letters and belief in us. I hope you enjoy our anniversary issue. E-mail me anytime as I would love to hear your thoughts about the magazine!
