Rockin the House with Silver Linings This month's theme is Silver Linings: The Skill of Finding Them and Empowerment House Magazine is filled with silver linings. While enjoying the fun of St. Patrick's Day, our Highlights this month are the Polar Bear in all its natural beauty, poking fun at Canadians who complain about the snow in Toronto, yoga, relaxation, and meditation. Our mentors, as always, are rockin’ the house this March. Roger talks about clearing the dark clouds to help find the silver lining while Beverley provides ten tips to help you learn through humour to see the silver linings in challenges. Gloria gives a personal analogy regarding finding silver linings in the worst of times while Michael bakes a cake that falls and becomes a masterpiece. Matt is turning challenges into opportunities, Amy teaches us that Locke supports taking a leap of faith in life, and Daniel brings a little light from Germany. I have my own "silver linings" analogy to share with you this month. I first began looking for writers for this magazine around ten years ago. I needed these writers to put their egos aside to mentor young adults with respect while I also needed them to be successful, industry professionals who had wisdom to offer. These writers also needed to contribute their writing, have time to write, be able to write, and have great compassion for young adults. Each year that I looked for new writers, I found one in literally hundreds of people. Today, we have a team of amazing columnists and a magazine that I love to visit for inspiration and empowerment when I need a shot of energy. The silver lining couldn’t be brighter. Ten years may seem extreme, but I kept my eye on any positives that came my way rather than putting emphasis on the negatives, which were overflowing around me. If I had not looked for the silver lining each day, this magazine would not exist today. Keep an eye on the silver linings and possibly even start a silver lining's journal also known as a gratefulness journal. It can have a very powerful effect on your daily thoughts and turn many negative situations into positive experiences. Embrace the positive energy in our magazine, connect with us, write to and help other young adults, and get published to build your resumes. We are always a silver lining that you can look to when you need acceptance, inspiration, empowerment and unconditional positive support. I hope you enjoy March’s issue of Empowerment House and our Team of Empowerment writers, Lisa To get updates, be part of our community, join contests, and more, please subscribe to the magazine (free) or follow us on Twitter/Facebook.
