The lake was beautiful this morning. The sun glistened over the blue waters and the waves rocked gently along the shores. My boys skipped a few stones and picked some rocks to paint. I explained the reasons for us being at the lake painting our beautiful stones. I told them that we may not know Sarah and Zach, but that I know they can feel the love from family, friends and even strangers like us.

As we were chatting and sitting at a picnic table perched over Lake Ontario, an elderly man passed us on his bike. It was a pretty cool bike for an older man. He then stopped and came back to us. He told us that he and his wife, who couldn't be there that day, enjoyed seeing children out by the water this early in the morning and wanted to give them something for their piggy banks.

I then told the gentleman why we were there, he smiled brightly, and we thanked him for his random kindness. After he left, the kids and I just stared at each other. It was such a powerful moment. 

The boys placed their rocks on the shore and we came home with our hearts full of love and peace.
